Congratulations to our very own Grace Sarver, Administrator of Warm Hearth at Home. Grace is Mrs. New River Valley 2016 and recently competed in the Mrs. Virginia pageant. Grace received Third runner up honors and was the winner of the interview category of the competition.
Grace’s main platform for the competition is poverty among seniors in our region. Working closely with the Warm Hearth Foundation, which helps provide seniors in need with food, housing, health care, and basic necessities, Grace hopes to build awareness for this group of people who are very near and dear to her heart.
“Seeing the difference, the Warm Hearth Foundation makes in seniors lives is why I ultimately wanted to be Mrs. River Valley. With 25% of the senior population living below the poverty level state- wide, I wanted to be an advocate for this vulnerable group. Seniors should not have to decide if they are going to buy their medication or eat for the month,” she said.
